Objectives of eIDAS
eIDAS aims to create a Digital Single Market in the EU by enabling secure and trusted electronic transactions between Member States. In addition, it increases trust in electronic identifications and digital services across the European Union by setting uniform standards and rules for electronic means of identification and electronic signatures.

For whom is eIDAS mandatory?
The eIDAS Regulation has been mandatory for all EU Member States since 2016. Organisations and public administrations in the EU are obliged to follow the eIDAS rules and put in place appropriate measures to ensure their systems are compatible with the Regulation.
